“COLMAR FÊTE LE PRINTEMPS” ( Colmar celebrating Spring) is a demonstration very appreciated by the uncountable tourists who visit the city of Auguste BARTHOLDI (the Liberty statue’s sculptor) in this early spring.
Among the Easter markets in town and numerous animations on the streets, the music festival and culture are the most important events. Thirteen concerts with a jazz and classic’s consonance, take place in the most prestigious halls of the city.
BOSSARENOVA TRIO choose this beautiful venue to finish their short European Tour, which visited Portugal, France and Italy. Paula Morelenbaum, world-famous to have been the voice of Antonio Carlos Jobim band, and two German musicians , Joo Kraus ( trompet ) and Ralf Schmid (piano) form this virtuoso TRIO.
The set list of this European Tour take place on their last and famous album called Samba Preludio a melting-point between European Lieder songs and Brazilian tropical beat. In a way never heard before, they charmed the audience from the first notes. The wonderful harmonies of Samba and Choro had flat throughout this mesmerizing evening.
Paula Morelenbaum and her tender and grooving vocal percussion floated over a piano accompaniment filled with electronic pulsations and a trumpet and beatbox elements. Unusual instruments in the Bossa Nova world, where Guitars and percussions take often a big place to build the beat!
Baden Powell, Vinicius de Moraes, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Pixinguinha, Villa Lobos, Chopin, Schubert, Schuman and Monteverdi were revisited that night creating a beautiful bridge between Classical and Modern music. It was a beautiful and warm night for this fusion of occidental lyric poetry and tropical groove.

I was born in Portugal and lived the Sixties exploring the great UK Rock magazines: "The New Musical Express" and "Melody Maker". Ray Charles and Pat Boone were my father’s fav. I became “The Great Pretender”. Cliff Richard was our Elvis Presley. As a beach boy, with my first guitar, I met a beautiful French girl on the beach! It was the Summer of 69!! We got married and rock music was our dowry. In France, I became a Wine Genetic Research Scientist. One of my works contributed to the decoding of the genome of the vine! As a rock journalist, I’ve worked twenty years for the Portuguese and Brazilian Rock Press. I ‘ve interviewed so many great artists. Then, one day I met FRANK ZAPPA! I got into trouble for introducing my wife to "Uncle Meat"!
