For the past two years, Jefferson City, Missouri based rock band Shaman’s Harvest has been extensively touring across North America as both headline and support, positioning themselves as a radio favorite and attracting loyal fans across the country. Airplay of “In Chains”, “Dirty Diana” and “Dangerous” have become popular songs on the circuit as well as other songs from their latest album Smokin’ Hearts and Broken Guns.

During their most recent HellPop Tour, which includes Sunflower Dead, HELLYEAH and In This Moment, Shaman’s Harvest, Rock At Night caught up with them at The Ritz, Raleigh North Carolina, on July 6th.  Photographing this show was the perfect excuse to visit The Ritz in Raleigh, which was actually my first concert at this venue–and I was impressed. It is a great spacious venue with good acoustics, very competent light and music techs.  Best of all,  from the person collecting the tickets to the security folks in the photo pit, I had a great experience. A big shout out to the staff at The Ritz !  Keep up the great work!

Inside the venue I was surprised to see a variety of  local and craft beers on tap, again, a great venue, even more if you are a  “pain in the neck beer drinker” like myself.

Shaman’s Harvest performed on stage after Sunflower Dead, and did an awesome  job of lifting the crowd into a “ready-to-rock” spirit.  With a blend of hard rock, Southern rock, blues and a hint of funk metal, Shaman’s Harvest delivered–and the crowd was loving it!  I could feel the band’s energy at the show with the same intensity as during the headliners performances. Shaman’s Harvest gives 100 percent and did not disappoint.  The crowd, which was comprised of mixed generations, all were digging the band, whose music was not only good for the soul but also fun to watch. All around, Shaman’s Harvest put on great entertainment– as you can see from the pictures–for the whole family.

After their performance I had the pleasure to chat with guitarist Josh Hamler, who was very friendly and accommodating. I love when band members make themselves available to the fans, keeping it real.  He seemed very humble and appreciative. Josh’s message was “If you like rock music, find yourself a rock concert this summer, and visit your favorite band’s concession stand for a CD or T-Shirt”.  Indeed!  Support your local working musician!
