Sauropod: upcoming and roaring!

Sauropod

By Rick Slagter, Rock At Night Groningen, The Netherlands Correspondent

Venue: Asteriks, Leeuwarden

Sauropod. No, not the biggest dinosaur ever, but an energetic cocktail of garage, post-punk, post-grunge and indie rock, made by a fast upcoming bass-drum-guitar trio from Oslo, Norway.

Last year Sauropod released their debut album Roaring at the Storm, which got good reviews in alternative media like Clash Magazine and The Line of Best Fit. The album title is a good cue how Sauropod sounds.

In November and December Sauropod did a headline tour in Europe and they were invited to play at the event Eurosonic/Noorderslag, last weekend in The Netherlands (a.k.a. ESNS, the European SXSW). The band did two gigs, one in Groningen and RAN shot the band in the venue Asteriks, Leeuwarden.

Sauropod is: Jonas Røyeng (guitar, vocals), Kamilla Waal Larsen  (bass, vocals), Jørgen Natland Apeness (drums).
