Venue: The Capitol Theatre, Clearwater, Florida–September 24, 2017
It was an 80s evening in Clearwater at the The Cap, as the venue welcomed the venerable Psychedelic Furs, who have not stopped touring at all! They were in South America not long ago recently and are touring the U.S. Their hit “Pretty in Pink” is the iconic song of the 80s, which featured brat-packer Molly Ringwald. The opening band was Bash & Pop, which featured Tommy Stinson of The Replacements. The packed crowd of mostly Baby Boomers, many wearing “Furs” t-shirts, seemed to be enjoying the concert.
The lighting was very dark with colored lights for ambience–but are the bane of photographers. Check out the Photo Gallery below:
I grew up in a household full of rock music, studied journalism in college, and then became a scientist.Although my science career has served me well, music has always played a major role in my life. I grew up reading "Creem" magazine; I play several musical instruments as a "hobby";and it seems a camera has always been in my hand. Now, I am combining what I love the most--music and photography--serving as editor of Rock At Night. I travel between the US and UK seeking my dream! My motto: life is short...no regrets. Chyrisse
