On Friday night at the Amelie Arena, Tampa, Florida, Grammy Award, Ten-Time Grammy Award winning, Three-Time Latin Grammy Award Winning Rock Icon and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana wound down the Transmogrify Tour. The tour began on June 23rd in Washington State, moved its way across the country to New England, and finally made its way south to Florida where he played in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and finally the last show, Hollywood. Santana will be back in Las Vegas on November 1st. The tour promised to feature hits from Woodstock to Supernatural and more!
What can one say about Carlos Santana, the man is a legend and I was in “awe” of him as he came out on the stage with his full band of accomplished musicians. The man reaks of joy, peace, and love! I noticed a little print of Jesus was on top of the amplifier and the smell of incense was in the air. It was really a spiritual experience being there in the photo pit. We were allowed to photograph the first three songs, hence, the short article. He performed “Evil Ways” to my delight.
Carlos Santana paid homage to Tampa and the arena by donning a Lightning jersey, which was a thoughtful gesture. Another special moment for me was seeing Santana’s wife Cindy Blackman play the drums. She was on fire! She studied at Berklee School of Music and is a very accomplished jazz musician in her own right.
All I can say is, “I am buying a ticket next time!” I left the arena with a huge smile on my face and felt transformed! Santana’s music is that emotional and powerful!

For 40 years and as many albums later, Santana has sold more than 100 million records and reached more than 100 million fans at concerts worldwide.
