By Andras Paul, Rock At Night London
Venue: O2 Islington Academy, London–November 7, 2017–One-Eyed Doll
Rock At Night has been supporting One-Eyed Doll in the U.S. for a few years and NOW we are happy to bring to you a review and photos of their gig in London! They are touring across Europe in support of Social Repose. Check out our review below:
A sweet-voiced girl with a beautiful hat and innocent smile, came to the stage along with her guitar. Then there was a sudden shock of drums firing up followed by a strong guitar chord. The voice changed, the hat flew off toward the heated audience, and One Eyed Doll was on! This was huge! The moment she appeared on stage you don’t even have the time to breathe– you must listen and drop behind because you don’t want to miss a thing!
Kimberly, as she introduced herself and her bandmate “Junior” the drummer ( Jason Sewell ), aren’t new to the stage at all. The duo is a Texas-based goth punk formation voted Best Punk Band for the years 2009 to 2011 in the States, one year after another–and not in vain! The dust they stirred up during their live performance at London’s Islington Academy was both tough and unmatchably funny.
Kimberly ran around the stage, then splits the audience with her guitar jumping on the floor. The next second she’s already up again followed by her long swinging hair and talking funny to the fans while almost eating the microphone with her smile. The fans were shaking their hair, clapping with hands in the air, surely enjoying the show. Thank you Wonder Punk Woman for coming by! Hope to see you soon! London loves you!

Andras Paul came from a traditional art background back in Hungary. He studied drawing, painting and animation and later began his interest in photography using and old Zenit film camera.
Concert photography started out as a hobby but when he began feeling discouraged with his creative projects, grabbing a camera and approaching a gig was the only thing which made him completely relaxed and confident.
Andras approaches photography as a kind of meditation. While attending a gig he is able to lock out all the disturbing noises of the world, making himself completely relaxed, and escape into another world. Has no favorite band however favors listening to AC/DC nowadays.
Andras loves photography and Is open to any kind of gig with decent music-- let it be a big concert or the smallest darkest pub on earth.
