Event:ADAM ANT – MANCHESTER ACADEMY 2 – APRIL 17TH 2015

Adam AntAdam Ant–my teenage heart throb–.the posters covering my bedroom (the “Prince Charming” single with the advent calendar type windows)… the albums (some bought twice) and now all these years. And here I am standing at the Manchester Academy 2 with the man himself on stage in front of me!  Loving and re-living it all!  All the worries beforehand that he might not live up to my teenage memories were swept away by his stage presence…the music… the crowd.  He still is able to maintain the energy levels, the moves, the aggression and even the humour.  He is a true performer and the crowd was lapping it all up and asking for more.

I do have to come clean.  A lot of the song titles I didn’t know, having not purchased any of his latest albums (something I will be remedying, I hasten to add),  which made a few more intro’s for us older fans getting reacquainted. The highlights for me though were “Car Trouble, ” “Tabletalk,” and “Bathroom Function.” I loved ‘Strange Effect” but the stand out of the night was “Kings of the Wild Frontier” (I purchased the album twice). All in all, a great night watching a really great tight band, a supreme showman and more importantly, keeping my teenage dreams intact.
