Blossoms brings their brand of trippy, psych-rock to Manchester

Blossoms

Blossoms 38 useBlossoms are destined for big things, no doubt. Hot off of Austin’s SXSW and sold-out engagements in the UK, the five-piece band rolled into Manchester Academy to a full-house awaiting their own brand of retro-60s vibe music. One cannot pinpoint the genre, which appears to be a mix of psyche-pop riffs and soothing vocals which meld into an almost trippy or ethereal sound which pleases the ears.  The songwriting is solid, for example “Blown Rose,” which mixes a memorable vocal melody with acoustic and electric guitars and a touch of keyboards/synth. Of course, the infectious single “Blow” was very well-received.  Check out highlights of the show below:

Members: Tom Ogden – Voice/Guitar. Charlie Salt – Bass/BV’s. Josh Dewhurst – Lead Guitar/Auxiliary Percussion. Joe Donovan – Drums. Myles Kellock – Keyboards/BV’s.
