Vlieland rocks with Here Comes the Summer festival

Vlieland is one of the small islands in the coastal waters of the Netherlands. There’s one little village, one camp, cars are forbidden, and it is very popular because of the festivals. In May there was an annual three day festival with alternative and indie music called “Here Comes the Summer.” A maximum 1,500 people were on hand to see approximately 20 bands spread over outdoor and indoor stages.

In September a large festival called “Into the Great Wide Open” is held which yields about 6,000 concert goers. If you want to go there, don’t forget your tent because you have to camp at the festival. And take some warm clothes and an umbrella. This year at the “Here Comes the Summer” festival, the nights in May were a little frosty and the afternoon of the last day was rainy—but the music was hot, with an international line up, and the atmosphere was very chill.

In the morning you could do some yoga on the beach (or a walk), in the afternoon you could see bands from Great Britain, the USA, Belgium, Italy and – of course – The Netherlands. Rock At Night was there for a photo report. Please see the photo gallery below:
