VENUE: Amplifier–Nevsky Prospekt, Genre: Alternative Rock-July 10, 2015
Friday 10th July, the only venue in Perth to be at was Amplifier for this talented local line up.
Show kicked off with Nevsky Prospekt – 3 piece band from Perth formed in 2011 Nevsky are Stuart Mckay – Guitars, Vocals Haydn Bishop – Bass Perry De Gennaro – Drums.
I have had the privileged of watching these guys evolve since they came on to my radar over a year ago. Their sound has improved over this time and the material was always good anyway. Stu McKay plays guitar and sings their tunes that are driven by catchy riffs and unique vocal hooks. The more you hear the lyrical content the more you realise the place from which this comedy resonates, roots planted solidly in original punk music. This influence resurfaces again in the simplistic approach the band demonstrates when playing, they reject fluff of any description. It’s real, its catchy, its performed well and yep I’m a fan. Looking forward to what comes next from these boys. This show was another success and the crowd ventured out early to support them.
