Artist: MIKAYLA (Singer/Songwriter/Musician and Actor); Based: Charleston. South Carolina; Genre: Rock, Rockababy, Southern Rock.
Mikayla is a V2D Records Recording Artist; Radio and TV personality. She is a prolific singer/songwriter with the ability to write in a variety of styles, with her main focus having the edgy garage band sound of the Kinks, DC 5, or The Rolling Stones; the essence of Black Sabbath, Joan Jett and Billy Squier. A Mikayla Show is an experience of sound, sight and sensuality.
Some live to sing, while others are born to sing; such is the case with Mikayla. By age 7, Mikayla had already made her first recording and traveled extensively with her parents singing in auditoriums across the country. Mikayla states that some of the best advice given by her parents was that if she really wanted to make it in the music business she needed to write her own music. She listened, and today she is fast becoming a rising star as both a songwriter and entertainer.
Mikayla’s big break came when she spent two years working with Producer Terry King, who arranged more than forty of her original songs. Together, they “tested the waters” by releasing a demo, it was picked up by dozens of Indie radio stations and her music video became a hit in England; more than 10,000 fans jumped on the band wagon and asked for more. This ultimately led to a recording contract with V2D Records. “Mikayla can write songs in any genre; she is not only beautiful, she is a talent to be reckoned with; her stage show is contagious, and her voice phenomenal” says V2D Records CEO, Debbie King.
“My goal is to write songs for the future…songs that will stand the test of time…the type of songs that will immediately take you back to that ‘feel good’ emotion you had when you first heard it…and you will want to listen to it over and over,” says Mikayla.
As Mikayla continues to earn a frenzied fan-base, V2D Records is releasing a new single and subsequent video, every 30 to 45 days. Unlike most record labels, V2D concentrates on releasing hit singles, rather than albums, their motto is: INNOVATE, DON’T EMULATE
Mikayla’s music is being heard in more than 70 countries around the world…she is a guest on some of the biggest talk shows on the planet. Mikayla has asked by Richard Sirgiovanni, creator of The Grimps animated rock and roll cartoon, to be a contributing songwriter for the soon to be major motion picture and TV show. She has also been cast in a principal role as “Rebecca Mooney” on a new Western TV series Big Sky…her career is “on fire!” Be looking for the Mikayla–The Southern Belle Rocker Show when it comes to your city.
A Huge Thank You to Mikayla for joining me this week in “The Ravens Nest”.
Peace & Love
