De Wolff

By Rick Slagter, Groningen, The Netherlands

DeWolff is a psychedelic rock band from the Netherlands’ deep south and was formed in 2007 by brothers Pablo & Luka van de Poel and Robin Piso. In 2010, then still aged 15, 18 and 19, DeWolff played in front of an audience of 10,000 at Europe’s oldest music festival Pinkpop.

In August 2011, DeWolff played in front of an audience of 15,000 at the Hungarian Sziget festival and in front of 30,000 people at the Dutch Lowlands festival. A film crew followed the band for the release of their debut album until the Sziget performance and in May 2012 the resulting documentary DeWolff premiered at the Amsterdam International Documentary Festival.

DeWolff’s live reputation grew bigger and bigger and their highly energetic concerts, which by now have lead them to France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Russia and even Australia, proved DeWolff to be one of the best and wildest live bands in their league.

The band has created several studio albums but in May 2015 the newly released live album provided a fine example of the full energy power of their live performances.

Rock At Night captured DeWolff at the three day festival Welcome To The Village in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, July 2015.

DeWolff is: Pablo van de Poel – guitar, vocals; Luka van de Poel – drums; Robin Piso – Hammond, vocals; Genre: Raw Psychedelic, Southern Rock; Home Town: Geleen, Netherlands
