Venue: Barfly-Camden, London-December 11, 2015–Queen Kwong and Loom band
King Kong, Fay Wray, Queen Kwong. Carre Callaway is bringing a whole new meaning, and riot grrrl credentials, to the scream queen monicker. Since being discovered as a teenager by Trent Reznor and mentored by the Nine Inch Nails’ frontman, Carre has spent the last decade building a solid reputation for her raw, yet complex, sound and live performances. Carre and her band – comprising of Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) on guitar, Fred Sablan (Marilyn Manson) on bass and Hayden Scott on drums – have spent a good part of this year touring the UK and Europe establishing a solid fanbase. For the final leg of this year’s tour they have been supported by the angry young men of Loom, a perfect way to warm up for Queen Kwong’s aural onslaught.
We caught them up close at London’s legendary Barfly in Camden last Friday (11/12/15) and suffice to say they did not disappoint.
