The 2nd Annual Dick Wagner “Remember the Child” Memorial Concert to feature over 25 music legends, including Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, Peter Keys of Lynyrd Skynyrd, David Winans II and more!
Detroit, Michigan: After a sold out premiere event in January 2015, the Dick Wagner “Remember the Child” Memorial Concert is returning for a star-studded sequel, set for 7 p.m. Saturday, February 20, at the Fillmore Detroit.
The event, which benefits the Children’s Miracle Network and greater Detroit area children’s hospitals, is packed with an all-star lineup that will include performances by Brad Whitford (Aerosmith), Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent), the Frost, Scott Morgan (the Rationals), Jimmie Bones (Kid Rock’s Twisted BrownTrucker Band), Grammy winner Mike Farris, musical director & Grammy nominee Paul Brown, Johnny “Bee” Badanjek (Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels, the Rockets), Jean Beauvoir (Plasmatics, Little Steven’s Disciples of Soul), Micki Free (Shalamar), Peter Keys (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Pat Lewis (Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye), Dick Wagner’s son, Robert Wagner, Maryann Cotton, Ray Goodman, David Winans II, Muruga Booker, Dennis Burr and more!
The “Remember the Child” Concert honors the memory of legendary Michigan guitarist Dick Wagner, renowned for his work with the Bossmen and the Frost as well as his lead guitar playing and songwriting with Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, Aerosmith, Kiss, Peter Gabriel, Burton Cummings, Mark Farner and Meat Loaf to name a few. Wagner co-wrote seven out of Cooper’s nine biggest hits, including “Only Women Bleed” and “I Never Cry,” plus Air Supply’s “Just As I Am,” and Nils Lofgren’s seminal hit “Shine Brightly.” In his lifetime, Dick donated his talent generously to benefit the lives of children and others. As Dick tells us, “There is more love in the human heart than can ever be given away.” ~Dick Wagner
As part of the event, the first “Dick Wagner Rock Royalty Award” will be presented to Russ Gibb, founder of the legendary Grande Ballroom. A silent auction will feature music and sports memorabilia, including guitars signed by Alice Cooper, Kid Rock, Brad Whitford, Derek St. Holmes, Mark Farner, and Wagner himself. A signed copy of Wagner’s award-winning autobiography will be among the featured auction items.
