The past few years for Dorothy have been one hell of a good ride. In 2014, Rolling Stones named them as one of the “Top Ten New Artists You Need to Know: November 2014”. Spotify added some of their songs on their “Southern Gothic Playlist –which is where I got my first taste of listening to Dorothy. Their songs have been played in commercials (Gatorade) , and on TV shows (Pretty Little Liars, Orange is The New Black). As for this year, on June 24 2016, they released their debut album ROCKISDEAD.

With their southern rock vibe and soulful/powerful voice from Dorothy Martin, ROCKISDEAD will make you head bang and dance a little. “Wicked Ones” and “Raise Hell” are packed with energy, power, and some sweet riffs. Either one of those songs will become your anthem for the year. Dorothy has a few songs were ladies will feel their inner badass woman coming out such as “Missile”, which is my favorite song on this album.

I came to see Dorothy, which were opening for The Struts. Dorothy got the crowd going with opening with “Kiss It”, a heavy rock with blues feel to it. The whole band stage presence is on 100%. You can tell they love what they are doing and are having fun with it. Fans were head banging, singing along while others were mesmerize by Dorothy Martin badass personality and voice.

Dorothy came out to the merch table after to mingle with fans. I met her and she was sweetheart–so nice that we even got to take a selfie together.
