By Rick Slagter, Rock At Night Groningen Correspondent
Venue: Vera Club, Groningen, The Netherlands–September 8, 2016
Last week, July Talk started their tour in The Netherlands, Europe and released their second album Touch (September 9, 2016). Since singer and guitar player Peter Dreimanis met vocalist Leah Fay in 2010 in Canada their co-operation turned out in an award winning and popular band playing alternative rock. Backed up by a steady band on stage the front couple Dreimanis/Fay has an rather beauty and the beast appearance. The show is a kind of tease-and-reject play between the sexes, sometimes the audience is involved.
RAN shot July Talk at Vera Club Groningen, and discovered in the audience many Canadian and US expats who followed the band on the European part of the tour. Their answer on the question why they are hard-core fans they all said: not only because of the good music and the fantastic show, the band is very approachable after the gigs.
