Venue: Lincoln Theater, Raleigh, North Carolina – September 20 2016
It was good to be back at my old friendly venue, The Lincoln Theater. It is probably the venue I’ve seen more concerts in Raleigh and I love it.
Let me start by saying that I was sick the day before the show, and honestly wasn’t feeling super, throughout the day of the show, not to mention having a difficult day. This didn’t really feel like a day I was going to have a good time.
I was wrong.
It is hard to explain really, but all of a sudden I just felt awesome. Not awesome “I’m Ready to Party All Night”, more like “I’m watching the sunset at the beach” kinda’ awesome. Like I said, it’s hard to explain, especially during a show with such a pungent, strong, loud, full of energy, heavy show. It just made me forget the hard day and be free.
I’m pretty sure one of the things that lead me to this state of “awesomeness” was the fact the band showed so much love and respect to the fans. I don’t think I have ever been to a show where the Singer would ask the guys to make a circle, with the ladies in the outside, so they could feel safe while the hardcore fans would lift the dust up in the mosh pit. Just look at the pictures, those guys were having as much fun as the fans were.
Sevendust put out a phenomenal performance, full of energy and interaction with the crowd. This is the kind of music I like, heavy, and Sevendust didn’t disappoint. In my opinion they sound a lot heavier and punchy than in the studio albums. I had the privilege to watch the whole concert in the corner of the stage and next to Clint, let me tell you, what a class act.
Don’t miss a chance to see Sevendust up close and personal this fall. Here are the next Sevendust show dates:
