Catchy, intense, soulful…I don’t know about other gigs but this one left an impression on me

Rock At Night loves Broken Witt Rebels–they’ve been talked about, written many about, and not in a vain. Their new video for “Georgia Pine” shows they have a soul to their music that is not easily forgotten.

I caught  the band at Proud Cabaret Camden, a well known venue in the heart of Camden Town’s venue filled iconic punk quarter.

When I arrived another great supporter of blues-rock, the Kris Barras Band, was already on the smokey dark stage singing all out with frenetic energy. It looked like nothing could stop them singing through the audience’s veins. I always treasure a good catch like this and  took some photo shots while watching Kris Barras, the guitarist virtuoso, show off his prodigious talent. The Kris Barras Band won another fan that night for sure. They’re touring Britain recently so you wanna’ catch them.

Following up was the band I came to see. The little place had filled up with oodles of fans leaving only a narrow alley in front of the stage.

I love live music so much and so I found the best way to get to know new bands is through their live performances. Blues being itself a sensitive genre driven by the intensity of emotions, it was a great way to connect with Broken Witt Rebels through their amazing live show. Soon I realised why they were attracting so much of RAN’s attention. Going through the emotion-infused songs. lead singer Danny Core showed his talent while sometimes grabbing the drum sticks or playing the guitar, intervening where most needed to push that song further.  The stage was filled with Soul while seeing these guys play.  An entertaining performance was created with James Tranter’s  lively lead guitar, Luke Davis’s  snappy bass, and Anthony Byrne’s funny style behind the drums.  It made for an evening of not only great music but a fun show to watch–and it looks like the guys left their mark in Camden.  The show ended with the catchy “Guns”,  the second single from EP Georgia Pine. Danny asked the audience to sing along giving the perfect closing chord to the show.
