broken-witt-rebels_ep-artwork_smallBroken Witt Rebels return with new single Georgia Pine, set for release on October 17th. Georgia Pine is the title track from their current EP, and the third single to be lifted from the EP following Low (Track of the Week on Radio X) and Guns (A-listed on Planet Rock & XS Radio Manchester).

The band have also been nominated for “Best Live Act” and “Best Rock Act” at the first annual Unsigned Music Awards which will be held at The Troxy in London on Thursday 27th October. The band will also close the show performing “Guns”.

The name ‘Georgia Pine’ comes from an old stoner reference ‘As high as a Georgia Pine’, but for the band the metaphor is more about their planned ascension to the top. It’s clear they haven’t come to make up the numbers.

A firm fans favourite, Georgia Pine sees Broken Witt Rebels showing their softer side, with Danny Core’s trademark howl melting hearts with the impassioned lyrics “You’re always there for me.”

The band invited fans to star in the video, submitting their fan photos and video clips. The video shot on smartphones, in partnership with mobile filming app Seenit, captures the incredible journey the band have been on, ever since their previous single Guns was featured on front page of YouTube.

The band have since amassed over 1m video plays and Guns became the 9th most shared and play-listed track on Spotify in the UK during July. With major label deals now on the table, the future looks bright.

This summer Broken Witt Rebels have packed out stages at The Isle of Wight, Latitude, Y Not and Tramlines, with Leeds Festival still to come. Their relentless live schedule also includes shows at King Tuts, The Troxy and Dingwalls alongside much fancied Icelandic band Kaleo and a November tour with fellow blues rockers King King.
