Meshuggah perform an intense metal show for hungry fans in Detroit
By Haintso Rakouth, Rock At Night Detroit Correspondent
Venue: The Majestic, Detroit–October 29, 2016
Usually around this time, the temperatures starts to drop down in Michigan, but this past Saturday the temperatures were up in the mid 60’s, which was perfect weather for those that were attending Halloween parties and concerts. I was looking forward to not wearing a coat since I knew Swedish extreme tech-metal band Meshuggah’s show would be packed– and I was right!
At the start of October, Meshuggah released their eighth studio album, The Violence Sleep of Reason, which I believe is one of the best metal albums of the year . It is packed with intense fast riffs and insane drum rhythm. eight studio album from Swedish extreme tech-metal messiah’s
Meshuggah opened up their set with new song “Clockworks” and the crowd went wild. The next song they played was my current favorite song from their latest album “Born in Dissonance”. Watching drummer Tomas Haake live just blows your mind away. Of course they played one of the crowd’s favorites “ Bleed”. The lighting effect used for their show is def makes the show more intense.
I walked around the venue during their set to find a good spot to just hangout and headbang to, and the place was sure full. The nice thing about going to shows at the Majestic Theater is by the soundboard, there is a little sit down area and you can watch the bands. They are a few steps, so you are able to see everyone in the venue.
I’m very pleased that I finally had the chance to see Meshuggah lives. They sound incredible live and the energy from their fans also makes the show fun.

I grew loving music since I was a baby and fell in love with concert photography when I moved for college. I didn't take it seriously till I attended my first West Coast music festival.I enjoy being able to do two things together--listening to music and taking photos of some of my favorite musicians. I enjoy a variety of music, but I love shooting metal shows the most. Favorite band of all time?Either Black Sabbath or A Tribe Called Quest
