Venue: Memorial Auditorium (Lincoln Theater) Raleigh, North Carolina – October 4 2016
Much like Metallica and Rush, Clutch is one of those bands with such a music repertoire, that you know you’re getting a heck of a setlist, no matter what, and that’s a fact.
Raleigh has a lot of love for Clutch, it’s one of the bands that often come to town, and we really appreciate that.
Neil Fallon stormed to the stage with a shout of “Raleigh!!! Fancy joint you have here” and then the rock ‘n’roll started to flow. Clutch has such a peculiar style that, in my opinion, mixes Hard Rock, Blues, Punk, Stoner and sprinkles some funk metal on top that l like to call “Fun Metal”.
I wouldn’t dare to compare, but Clutch reminds me of Deep Purple, not because of the music style, but because they can deliver such a powerful sound, that fills whatever venue, with such a simple instrument set up. While Tim, Dan and Jean-Paul do their thing, Neil sets the stage on fire and engage the crowd with a lot of charisma.
Clutch is definitely a must see band. Don’t miss the chance to see them in 2016:
