Van Morrison plays limited engagement to appreciative crowd in Clearwater, Florida

Van Morrison

Venue: Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, Florida –January 17, 2017

Seeing the classic singer/songwriter Van Morrison is a rare treat and knowing that he was going to perform three nights at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, Florida, was even more special knowing it was one of the few appearances in the US this year. He performed at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas on January 13th and 14th, 2017 and will not be performing again until June in Dublin.  All three nights were sold out at Ruth Eckerd Hall and Rock At Night was able to capture a glimpse on Tuesday, January 19th.

Just earlier in the day I had heard “Domino” on Sirius XM radio as I was driving to work.  What a great song! During Van Morrison’s show only a couple of the well-known songs were performed like “Moondance” and “Brown-Eyed Girl.” Van Morrison was flanked with a full band and back-up singing group as he played the sax and sang.  We photographers were allowed to sit through the first two songs (which went by like a blink of the eye) and I’m sure the concert proved to be great after listening to “Too Late” and “Higher Than the World”.    I’m sure many concertgoers felt blessed and lucky to spend an evening with such a gifted singer and songwriter who played some of his original music and favorite cover songs.
