I’ve been wanting to see Neurosis live a few years ago after I was introduced to them by one of my friends. After seeing they were going to be on tour with metalcore band Converge, I decided to go to the show. When I arrived the main floor was fully packed to the door– and I wasn’t surprised. Neurosis and Converge are both fave bands to the underground metal scene–and Detroit loved them!
Neurosis has been around for more than 30 years. Neurosis started off as a hardcore punk band in the late 80’s and then transitioned into the post-metal and sludge metal scene in the 90’s.
Neurosis opened their set with “Lost” from their album Enemy of the Sun. Other songs performed I especially enjoyed were “The Doorway” from my favorite Neurosis’ album Times of Grace. Neurosis also played from their latest album Fires Within Fires the following: “Bending Light, “A Shadow Memory”, “Fire Is The End Lesson” and “Broken Ground”.
Neurosis is on tour with Converge and Amenra through August 7th, 2017
