Venue: Chester Live rooms – 22nd November 2017
What can you say about a band like Cast that has not most likely been said before in review after review? I don’t know but ill give it a try.
On a cold wet windy night in Chester, we trudged to a sold out Live Rooms, to see one of the greatest Brit Pop bands of the 90’s and in my humble opinion a band that have a sound that is nearest to the classic beat pop bands of the 60’s. Funny that they’re from Liverpool.
Tonight was the first in a series of shows to warm up before they hit the road with other 90’s legends Shed Seven and it was brilliant, hit after hit, all the classics including “Sandstorm” “Alright” “Walkaway” “Fine time” “free Me” “I’m so Lonely” and the crowd sang the words back to them, and everyone band included were loving every minute and it was all a massive reminder of what talented songwriters these guys are, that knack for writing the near perfect indie rock song,
I think I remember reading that Noel Gallagher said about Cast after seeing them live back in the 90’s “it was a religious experience” maybe they don’t reach those heights now, but it was a baptism of beautiful tunes played by an exceptional band who are truly great at what they do,
After the show the conversation In the car was about how good Cast were tonight and how there songs have stood the test of time and will keep on doing so, GREAT BAND – GREAT SONGS – GREAT LIVE SHOW – GREAT NIGHT, so find a show near you and go and see them,
