Sleepovers at Shackwell Arms: pop-punk and a bit of psych rock

Sleepovers

By Chyrisse Tabone, Rock At Night Tampa and London

Venue: Shacklewell Arms, London–November 20, 2017–Sleepovers’ Single Launch of “Good Sides”

Rock At Night popped by Shacklewell Arms on a brisk Monday night to check out Sleepovers’ single debut (“Good Sides”).  Although the band Average Sex was the headliner (they will soon be supporting the Charlatans on a UK tour) Simon Shoulders, Rock At Night London, and I could not stay for their set. Nevertheless, the venue was full and enthusiastic to see Sleepovers. They were thoroughly energetic bopping and moving on the tiny stage (I’d love to see them in a bigger venue) to really danceable, upbeat, alt-psych-pop-rock (they seem to label themselves as “slacker rock”).  I really enjoyed the set and was super glad we made it over to catch a glimpse.  Rock At Night recommends checking out Sleepovers!!  I hope to hear more from them in the future, like perhaps, a full-length album.
