Venue: O2 Liverpool-THE TWANG – 10TH Anniversary  ‘LOVE IT WHEN IT FEELS LIKE THIS’ TOUR with  CUT GLASS KINGS and  JAWS

The Twang

The Twang is an indie rock band from Birmingham, England, formed in 2004, and burst on to the British Music scene in 2007 with their debut long player “Love It when It Feels Like This”. The song reached Number 3 in the UK charts and was followed by the singles “Wide Awake” “Either Way’ “Two Lovers” and “Drinking In L.A”. And, this is what this tour was all about.

Cut Glass Kings

Cut Glass Kings, a two-piece Indie Rock Band from Birmingham, opened up tonight’s gig. To be honest, I really like this band which produces a brilliant full dirty rock sound with duel vocals from Paul Cross (Guitar) and Greg McMurry (Drums). Even though I’m sure comparisons will be made to such bands as Black Keys and Royal Blood, I thought these guys produced a sound and style of their own– and could go on to very big things.

Jaws

Up next were another band from Birmingham, a three-piece called “JAWS”, who graced us with their very 80’s-tinged pop. To be honest, these guys weren’t for me, but what they did, they did very well and the crowd was into it and very appreciative.

Then the lights went down and on strolled The Twang, wide smiles on their faces, smile’s that never left their faces for the whole show and they kicked of with “Barney Rumble”. The full O2 erupted, and then it was smash after smash!  See the set list below:

The Twang

The show was split into two half’s, the first half was tracks from their 2nd, 3rd and 4th records. After the band left the stage (to have a cig and a piss), they came back on to play in it entirety “Love It When It Feels Like This”.

The crowd jumped, sang and danced to every track, as the band was tight and impressively on point. They were having fun and the crowd was having more, finishing with “Got Me Sussed” and “Cloudy Room: the crowd erupted, The Twang thanked them took a bow and it was done…..Niice
