Venue: Bold Point Park-Providence, Rhode Island-Thursday August 24, 2018
As the sun began to set, a slight breeze blew in over the water to greet the crowd as they filed in on another picture perfect night at Bold Point Park. Jillian Cardarelli’s sequin dress sparkled in the sunshine as she kicked off the show with a nice blend of her originals ”Rerun”, and “Souvenirs”, and covers Garth Brooks “Friends in .Low Places”.
Country music continued to fill the air when 21yr old Noah Schnacky hit the stage with Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Backroad”, and during his own “Hello Beautiful”, he jumped into the crowd to give a rose to a fan. Noah is also famous as a cast member of the original ShowMobile series HitStreak, this young singer and actor also appeared in a 2011 episode of the CBS series How I Met Your Mother. An amazing young singer/songwriter, he released his debut single, “Miami to L.A.,” in 2014.
As the night grew dark, a full moon shone behind the stage as Hunter Hayes appeared through the heavy fog being pumped on the stage. Between the dramatic lighting and the excessive fog it was difficult to see Hunter and his band at times, but he made his presence known with his terrific guitar work. Starting with “Yesterday’s Song”, Hunter played like a man possessed. When listening to Hayes music live, songs such as “ Rescue”, and “Invisible” become a platform that allow him to blend a bluesy guitar into his country style in a very unique way. His new songs “Dear God”, “One Shot”, and “This Girl” were well received as were “21” and “This Girl”.
As a fun night of Country music came to a close, the brisk late summer air was a reminder that outdoor concert weather in New England doesn’t last forever. Catch Hunter Hayes on tour or take in a concert at Bold Point Park before the 2018 season ends!
