“Stray Dog”, new single release from Australian psych-rocker Lachlan X. Morris

Australian psych-rocker, Lachlan X. Morris has released a new single “Stray Dog”, the second single from his forthcoming album Premeditations which is set for release later this fall. “Stray Dog” follows recently released single “Turpentine”.

Listen to “Stray Dog” below.

The song “Stray Dog” opens with energetic drums, and fuses classic rock instrumentation with psychedelic synth lines to create a unique and distinctive song. “Stray Dog” masterfully showcases Morris’s classic rock tendencies, stirred with youthful energy and modern recording techniques.  Without a doubt there is something uniquely satisfying about the contrasting smooth vocals against the synthesized backdrop of the song.

The self-confessed “psychedelic dad-rock artist” draws from old school songwriting and pop formations, harboring a bold throwback to 70’s pop music, all with a sprinkling of psychedelia and doomsday themes. Although the name might not sound familiar, Lachlan X. Morris is no stranger to the music scene. Morris started skipping around the local circuit with his high school band The Guppies, who were finalists in triple j’s prestigious Unearthed High in 2011. The Guppies toured with the likes of Birds of TokyoThe Rubens, and played at Groovin The MooFat As Butter and Bigsound 2012.

Lachlan X Morris is proudly sharing the stage with Cloud Control and Last Dinosaurs at Bitter n Twisted Beer Festival November 4th, in Australia.
