80s in the Park

It was hot and fury evening as it rained metal hair bands, who did their best to compete with the Florida sun. Sponsors of the Show Space Coast–Harley and Platt, Hopwood, Russell & Cole PLLC– helped save the show when the city of Melbourne refused to allow the concert to take place. Previous show’s racked up so many noise complaints “200” the only reasonable place to host this year’s show was the Space Cost Harley Davison location in Palm Bay. With less than 8 weeks organizers put together the new “would be” home for 80’s in the Park. These bands drove in from all over the state and out of state to participate in the concert weekend, which also raised money for charity.

Kix

Sending out a big shout out to all the opening bands, vendors, and patrons who blazed the heat to get the concert started each day, which rose into the scorching 90s.  On Friday night, when Rock At Night was there, only a handful of people showed. Was it the location? Poor advertising? The heat? Who knows? But those that came got to watch a fiery, energetic show put on by top notch professionals. The bands rocked–especially Kix, who were a pleasure to watch in all their glory.  Other notable bands that kicked butt were Burning Starr and Wild Planes.
