Situated in the criminally beautiful Lake District, is the annual festival lovingly called Kendal Calling. Aptly named and aptly situated, the festival brings together a kaleidoscope of music, art, cinema and for this year especially, flannel shirts! Glorious countryside plays host to artists from all over this wonderful world and as usual it promises to be four days of spectacular sound and vision.

From rock to folk, from dance to Indie, there is a stage for everyone and within the festival borders, markets can be perused, bars can be explored and food can be hungrily savoured. With areas for the kids too, the festival prides itself on being a family friendly venue where everyone is welcome.

This year headliners include Courteeners, The Doves, Manic Street Preachers, Nile Rodgers and Chic and the irrepressible Tom Jones. Supporting acts too numerous to mention will hopefully bring along the summer sunshine, but whatever the weather, I think I can hear Kendal Calling!
