Model Depose

The band Model Depose, based in The Netherlands, reminds us of a time when bands like Depeche Mode, Joy Division and The Cure dominated the alternative charts. Synths, guitars, emotional vocals, and socially engaged texts are the ingredients–but their sound is modern, and the band develops itself continuously, giving the British-based genre ‘new romantic’ some new input.

Model Depose

Model Depose released their second full length physical CD Damage Control at the venue VERA Groningen, The Netherlands.  The world wide digital release will be September 13th. One of the songs on the album, ‘Cold War’,  is a duet with the ‘queen of darkness’ FENN, who also  performed on stage with the band.

CYNN

The support act CYNN deserves special mention. CYNN is a young ‘one-woman-band’, which means a singer performs with a loop station, a drum pad, a guitar and a warm voice. She immediately caught the full attention of the entering audience with her music. Remarkable was how smooth the electronics were incorporated in her performance. If you closed your eyes, you would think it was a full band.

Model Depose has a fan base spread over the world, and it seemed the fans in hometown Groningen were all in the house. RAN caught a great performance: there was no damage and everything was under control.

Model Depose is: Jobbe Holtes (guitars, backing vocals), Roeland van der Velde (lead vocals), Mariët Gast (keys, synths), David Bos (bass), Bram Staats (drums)
