Rock At Night came across a punk band called The Camel City Blackouts, hailing from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The band released a debut album Possession in 2019 and just released an EP entitled 13 in 2021. Here’s what we think of the single/video for the single “Another Night”:
Rock At Night says: The song “Another Night” is a pleasant surprise because the band is channeling traditional 70s/80s Brit punk in vocalization. There’s no high-pitched, nasel pop-punk intonations, which have dominated the punk market for the last 20 years. This gives me hope that type of singing is on its way out. You still have the melodic vocals and fast-paced guitars (like The Strokes gone punk). Good stuff, people! Check out the other song on the EP called “Angels” and perhaps “La Diabla” from their prior album. A band to watch!
Band Members: Derek Gilreath (bass, vox) and Ryan Sizemore (guitar, vox)
