Review: HONGZA’s single ‘Dream Eat Sleep’-Release date April 7, 2021

HONGZA is a new British-Vietnamese alt pop band making waves in the UK–and one can see why after listening to their sophomore single “Dream Eat Sleep.” HONGZA is the brainchild of singer, songwriter Sam Hong, who grew up in North London.  The band has an EP named GEN Z which is coming out in May.

Rock At Night says: The song “Dream Eat Sleep” tells the story of  how fleeting love is today in the era of social media and dating apps. Like a menu, one can find a person to keep him/her warm at night, and after the thrill  of newness is gone, a person is on to the next meal item. During that night encounter, the person asks, “Can we live past to see tomorrow?” Of course, feelings can be hurt as HONGZA sings, “And my apology is left here in our sheets/you’ll grieve youl’s eat then bleed/don’t sit and wait for me.”  Essentially the song says–move on!  HONGZA’s song “Dream Eat Sleep” is a super catchy alt rock song  which is very telling of today’s Generation Z.  I love that it is making a cultural statement at the same time.

Look for the cool animated video to premiere on April 22, 2021.
