Single and Video Release: “Leave It To Me”
June 9, 2021
Astoria State has just finished up this season’s short tour opening for the band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. This newest release “Leave It To Me” is off to a fast start and has been added early on to the major streaming service playlists that include: Spotify New Noise, All New Rock, Loudwire Weekly Wire, Apple Music Breaking Hard Rock, Pandora New Rock Now and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Radio.
The video for the song is actually a prequel to the band’s earlier release “Nobody Knows” and has a film-short type of story-line that one has to follow from the beginning. This video was shot in a beautiful but desolate and very arid part of Hemet, California. Sean Sweetman of Sweetman Media produced the video. This was the same shooting location as the “Nobody Knows” video.
Danny Resnick, vocalist and guitarist says ““Leave It To Me” is just a good, old fashion rock song. It has these light verses that are very friendly and seem chipper though they serve almost as more of a confessional, or at least the reflections of someone who is beaten but not broken. This ‘confessional’ takes you through the roller coaster of emotions about defeat, self-doubt, criticism, apathy and hopelessness. However it winds right back up with this boost of confidence, self-assuredness, resolve and an unbreakable mindset: we get knocked down, but we’re never out – we get up and try again. I’m gonna brush the dust off, lick my wounds, leave it behind and try again.”
He continued: “The bottom line is in life, we all lose and we all fail at times – everyone can feel defeated sometimes, depressed, inadequate. But what we do with those thoughts, how we react to them and how we respond to them is what truly defines us. As long as we reflect, grow, and learn from it – then it all works out in the end.” The track was produced by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ Ron Winter.
Rock at Night says: “Great video and song. The concept of the video which is almost like a film short and the possibility of a continuing story line with additional videos that follow a mystery has not been done before with music videos. It definitely intrigues the viewer to get involved by watching the next video. We are already captivated by what could come next!”
Rock at Night covered the release of the band’s previous single “Nobody Knows” and you can check out that story HERE. The band will be on tour with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus through 2022 and more dates will be announced monthly.
