New Single Release: “Black Evening Dress

Jim Fite, a Michigan singer-songwriter has a brand new single, “Black Evening Dress” that dropped on August 6, 2021 to follow up his single, “Boom Boom Boom” that Rock at Night reviewed last July. You can check that out HERE.

Fite says about his new single, “I met a Chinese girl living in the UK online. We shared everything about our lives. We exchanged a substantial amount of photos and one was taken of her at a charity event in London. She was wearing a black evening dress with diamond earrings and several rows of pearls around her neck. After admiring the photo for a good while, I returned her my song that I wrote admiring her beauty and named the song, “Black Evening Dress.’

I started by laying down the piano track in Garage Band,” said Fite describing how he was inspired to write the song, “then, most of the lyrics came to me as a result of staring at her picture. Some lines I wrote waking at 4 am and being inspired.”

Rock at Night says: “This is a beautiful nostalgic ballad based on Jim’s memory of looking at a photograph of the object of his affection. Classic, just like the little black dress is, this is a song that could be performed in any genre as the emotions of longing are genuine and profound! Soft orchestration with keyboards are almost whispering in parts. Very nice.”

Black Evening Dress” was produced by super Producer/Engineer Chuck Alkazian who has worked with Pop Evil, Soundgarden, and Tantric at the legendary Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter).
