Tampa-based hard rock quartet Weapons of Anew are excited to share the news that they have welcomed a new singer, Richie Hume into their line-up. Their next upcoming event will be the VooDoo Bash at Dark Door Spirits Distillery in Tampa on Aug 13th and 14th–so be sure to get your tickets now at http://voodoobash.com). A description of this event:

VooDoo Bash is just that! A celebration of Great Food & Great Music all in support of a Great Cause. Join us as chefs, cooks, and restaurateurs from around the Greater Tampa Bay Area compete for bragging rights in a head-to-head cook-off we call the #VooDie Food Fight. Guests will also enjoy VooDoo Chef’s VooDie Steak Jam. Did we mention the music! Enjoy local artists and DJ’s throughout the day and party like a rock star into the night as we celebrate our winners! This is a rain or shine event!

Richie has raised the bar for this band!” exclaims guitarist Freddy Ordine. “His voice, work ethic, and the demands he makes of himself are like nothing we’ve ever experienced. It pushes all of us to be our best.”

Upon hearing Weapons of Anew, I was blown away by their power, intensity, and tightness,” adds Hume. “I instantly knew it would be a great fit. Getting to play with them has been amazing so far, and such a great learning experience. I can’t wait to get this show on the road.

The rest of the band is: guitarist Kevin Hicklin, bassist Stefan “Reno” Cutrupi and drummer Chad Szeliga (ex-Breaking Benjamin, ex-Black Label Society). Their debut single is a cover of The Chainsmokers’ “Sick Boy.” This song has become a top-25 track on rock radio and has currently hit over a million streams.

Their latest album that dropped last year, “Art of War” was put together with some big names in the music business. It was produced by longtime band collaborator and Grammy Award-nominated Mike Ferretti (Sevendust, Warren Haynes, Saliva), mixed by multi-platinum Grammy-winner David Bendeth (Papa Roach, Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon) and mastered by A-list mastering engineer Ted Jensen (Evanescence, Korn, Lamb Of God). With personal lyrics, this album is hard rock with hints of p-funk, thrash and good-time feels. And Tampa fans will be able to check out this band’s new line-up live and on stage.
