Live Review: Big & Rich with Special Guests Cowboy Troy, DJ Sinister-Mohegan Sun Arena-Wednesday, September 1, 2021
Uncasville, Connecticut
Country stars Big & Rich returned to the stage with a midweek concert full of peace, love, and patriotism. Not your typical country band, these guys came out to rock and along with DJ Sinister’s samplings, they got the party started as the house filled up. The crowd roared as Big & Rich hit the stage. Banging out their hits and covers, the audience sang along and danced in the aisles.
The Grammy Award winning duo of Big Kenny and John Rich along with Special guest, Cowboy Troy, (“I Play Chicken With a Train.”) played to their fan base, engaging the crowd with “God Bless America.”
“I think Kenny and I are a great representation of how Americans should be in general,” says John. “We disagree on a lot of things. But the things we agree on override our disagreements. We have a drink and get back on stage and it’s all good.”
Big & Rich are also well known for their respect for America’s Veterans and as they have done at every concert, they called on one Vietnam Vet (and his wife) to join them onstage to tell his story and salute them both with a shot of whiskey.
Continuing with hits “8th of November”, and “Rollin”, Big & Rich adding in covers of the Eagles’ “Life In the Fast Lane” a mashup that included a little Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk” and of course their showstopper “Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy”.
A fun night full of patriotism and great music, the Peace Love and Happy Hour tour is an experience.
