Diablo Swing Orchestra’s album Swagger & Stroll Down the Rabbit Hole will be released on November 2nd via Candlelight/Spinefarm. Guitarist/vocalist Daniel Håkansson says, “The song ‘Celebremos Lo Inevitable‘ draws inspiration from the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos and its celebration of friends and family members who have passed on but still live in our hearts and through our memories of them. It’s our first song in Spanish and since we wanted it sound authentic, we had a Mexican vocal coach in the studio just to get the pronunciation correct.”
Rock At Night says: ¡Ay, caramba! I cannot believe this band is Swedish! Listening to Diablo Swing Orchestra is like the first taste of sangria–sweet, fruity, a hint of spice and then WHAM! The alcohol hits you in the face! The Latin percussion and horns are addictive and the retro cartoon featuring ghosts fits perfectly with the nostalgic theme. As the tempo of the song becomes heavy and dissonant, the cartoon shows a chaotic frenzy of flying skulls and bottles of poison. The horns, strings, and heavy percussion pound into a heavy metal beat before swaying back into the verses with a lilting, swinging beat. If one likes unique music, “Celebremos Lo Inevitable” is just the ticket! Being a fan of electro-swing bands like Caravan Palace, Diablo Swing Orchestra has created a niche of its own. We look forward to hearing more from Down the Rabbit Hole!
