New Single and Video Release: “How Long

Release Date: September 3, 2021

“How Long” is the first single release from this band’s upcoming album “Wanted.” In 2019, after jamming at a rehearsal studio in Notting Hill, the Five Points Gang formed organically around the talents of guitarist and vocalist, Joe Pearson and bassist Dinho Barral. Pearson had recently relocated to London from Australia and Barral had just arrived from Brazil. The two had a musical chemistry that worked and desired to “bring blues into the 21st Century.” It wasn’t long before they had created a body of work with their original songs. A live album “Live at the Premises” was released in 2019 and from that album, the band achieved some recognition and started to play a lot of gigs and festival dates.

After the lock-downs began, Joe and Dinho began recording and releasing several “isolation” tracks which featured various notable artists from the blues scene, including musicians from Dinho’s home town in Brazil. These songs became popular with the UK blues radio community and the band got a lot of airplay. One of these recordings featured French dummer, Gaet Allard and he ended up joining the band and completing the band’s line-up. They quickly recorded their first full length studio album.

It feels like I’m in a band with two brothers that I never had,” says Joe. “We foster each other’s creativity, and nothing is off the table when we’re creating new material.” Recently released, “How Long” is a single and very fun video from the upcoming album “Wanted” that will be drop on September 24th.

About the single “How Long,” Rock at Night says: “This is a kick a** blues-rock song with a steady drum and bass beat and lyrics about peace, equality and social justice. The accompanying video has diverse people of different ethnicities singing the lyrics to the song. Music with a message, well played and we love this band’s blues style! Keep your eyes here for a review of the upcoming, 13 track album!”
