New Single Release: “Headlights”
Release Date: August 27, 2021
The Wildfires Projekt is Johnny Zirkel and he has released his second single of the summer. The style of the song “Headlights” is pop with driving rock guitars, plenty of hooks and a genre-bending melange of sounds that mix to create a great song. The Wildfires Projekt is touring with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, who we have covered–you can see one of the latest stories HERE.
Zirkel stays busy and has also created an international non-profit called Reverse the Trend. Zirkel has spoken about his non-profit at the Vans Warped Tour as well as hundreds of schools across the US. Support has come from Alt Press, Loudwire and Idobi Radio and this has furthered the band’s reach. Recently, the band has made a name for themselves by breaking industry barriers with their TV series “Sounds of the Underground” (which airs on CBS) and touring with pop-punk veterans The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
About “Headlights,” Rock at Night says: “Great guitars and synths, this song is a very 90’s vibe with big sound and lyrics on a spiritual level. Impossible to put this into a genre as it is distinctive rock, pop-punk and alternative. Strong hook at the chorus. Expertly mixed and engineered, we are waiting for more from this artist.“
