Review: Harrison Rimmer – Larkholme – Release Date April 22, 2022
On April 22, 2022 Harrison Rimmer will be releasing his debut album, Larkholme. Rimmer has been playing music across the UK, Europe, Australia, and Asia. He combines influences from Marvin Gaye, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen. He continues writing and exploring new styles and genres while keeping elements of his punk rock and classical roots. It’s about time! He has been promising a full album for the last seven years. The ten song offering is the perfect combination of thoughtful and playful.
Rimmer said, “I wanted to create a record that would be a perfect travel companion, something that feels like that classic car cruising off onto an empty highway heading nowhere, staring at the sunset, challenging the world for a brighter tomorrow.”
Rock At Night Says: His influences range from Bruce Springsteen, Counting Crows, Marvin Gaye, Nirvana, Black Stone Cherry and Frank Turner and is reflected in songs such as “The South’ (a track you can’t help but clap along with), “The Travelist”, and the lively “Life & Times”. “The End”, is the standout on Larkholme. The rollicking rocker is full of energy and the yin to the opener’s yang.
Hopefully, Larkholme will bring more attention to this talented singer/songwriter. He’s a breath of fresh air and deserves global superstardom. I’m adding this to my road trip playlist ASAP!
