Review: Gazpacho – “Winter Is Never” from the album Fireworking At St. Croix- Release date March 11, 2022
Well established Norwegian prog-rock sextet Gazpacho have just released a new video for the track “Winter Is Never” from the upcoming live album Fireworking At St. Croix. The live release comes in support of the band’s 2020 studio effort, Fireworker.
Rock at Night Says: Maintaining a delicate balance between mysterious and tranquil, Gazpacho successfully bring the lush synths and subtle piano balladry of their studio work to the lighted stage with this rendition of “Winter Is Never.” Despite the relaxed vibe of the composition, it’s clear that this is a band working hard to ensure this emotive composition holds together, and their talent does not go unnoticed. Everyone plays their part with aplomb. Yet the musicians never attempt to upstage one another, thus the song is able to surprise the listener with the way it gradually builds toward the full, sonically rich finale.
Watch the video below.
Fireworking At St.Croix was filmed at the Gazpacho’s rehearsal space in Fredrikstad, Norway, and streamed on October 25, 2020. The original stream has since been re-edited and expanded with 30 minutes of additional material not included in the original broadcast, all remixed in glorious 5.1 surround sound. The Blu-Ray edition also contains 2.5 hours of bonus material including promo videos, interviews and a bonus concert filmed at the last night of the Soyuz Tour in 2019.
Fireworking At St Croix will be released through the Kscope record label on March 11th, 2022, on multiple formats all of which are available to PRE-ORDER HERE (https://gazpacho.lnk.to/FireworkingStCroix)
