Rock at Night saw Joanne Shaw Taylor, one of our favorite performers last December when she was a part of the Allman Family Revival that stopped off in Sarasota to do a show–you can read about that HERE.

On the eve of her new UK tour that begins tomorrow (April 23, 2022) along with special guest Toby Lee, the blues woman extraordinaire has announced her upcoming live album. Titled “Blues From The Heart Live,” the new recording will drop on June 10, 2022. The live performance will be available as a CD/DVD and CD/Blu-Ray package and will include a collectible 24-page CD booklet. Pre-order the album now right HERE. Upcoming tour info, dates and tickets can be accessed HERE. Keep your eyes here for Rock at Night’s upcoming review of the album.

“Dyin’ to Know”

The live album was recorded and filmed at The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee on January 20, 2022, and features incredible guest performances from Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mike Farris, and Joe Bonamassa. This historic concert was Joanne’s first live performance in two years. The band lineup included: Rob McNelley on guitar, Steve Mackey on bass, Jimmy Wallace on keys and piano, Nick Buda on drums with Devonne Fowlkes and Kim Fleming on backing vocals and Joanne on vocals and guitar.

The first single released from the album is a tease to what we can expect from the rest of the songs–this one is the rocking blues tune titled “Dyin’ to Know.” As always, an exceptional performance from Joanne Shaw Taylor as she commands the stage to reveal her expertise of her instrument. Her performances are always great to watch on video or live and with each album she releases, she gets better and better. She continues to explore and shows her fans her intense immersion into the genres of blues and rock. This album is going to be worth the wait!

Rock at Night says about the single and accompanying video, “Dyin’ to Know:”

With cool guitar riffs, great percussion and a driving beat, this single starts out a bit moodier than most of her songs, but gives out a great wall of sound with the backing musicians. Joanne’s guitar work is of course, as always, stellar! Lighters up for this song!”
