Review: Emery Pulse – Gift Box-April 15, 2022
How can you come up with something that at the same time sounds retro and fresh and current?
Florida-based (Marco Island) singer Emery Pulse tries to answer that question with her latest single ‘Gift Box.’
Emery, who won a few singing competitions is obviously quite a fan of 80’s dance-oriented music. Yet, at the same time, particularly on this track, she tries to avoid some of the unnecessary frills and excesses such music from the eighties brought along and let’s not mention electric drums.
The production is clean at moments even harking back to early sixties with Emery’s voice at the forefront, pushing this pop ditty straight to the dance floor where it was intended to be. Quite addictive, actually.
