Review: JW Paris’ single “Electric Candle Light” – Released via Blaggers Records on March 25, 2022
Three-Piece JW Paris have just released their fourth single ‘Electric Candle Light’ The track is taken from the trio’s upcoming self-released debut album, due out this summer.
The band, featuring Gemma Clarke, Danny Collins and Aaron Forde. The band have gained substantial airplay across British radio stations, including BBC 6 music and BBC Radio 1. ‘Electric Candle Light’, a rousing reminder of what the nineties’ sounded like. Distorted vocals croon over a strutting rhythm section and wailing guitars. JW Paris is certainly lighting the way forward for Britpop and grunge inspired rock.

Electric Candle Light:
Danny Collins (vox/guitar):“’Electric Candle Light’is a futuristic-analogue-nostalgia fuelled track all about those nights where you seem to fall into a time-lapse and wish for those past better days”.
Gemma Clarke (drums):“Our new single has a mixture of dirty guitars and any analogue synth we could get our hands-on in the studio. We really got creative and you can really hear that throughout the track. We went in as a three-piece band and through working with JB at Buffalo,we came out with our most creative work to date”.
Aaron Forde (vox/bass):“For us, this is one of our stand-out singles. We purposely wrote it to feel like you are looking back on those nights through rose-tinted/nostalgia glasses. The song has a net-nostalgia theme with lines like ‘make a copy onto a floppy and allow me drive’. We have drawn influence from all our favourite artists including Blur, Suede, Jack White, FOALS, Joy Division and Rolling Stones”.“Electric Candle Light”was recorded and produced atBuffalo Studios by JB Pilon(Sunglasses for Jaws, The Kecks, Kula Shaker)and was mastered by John Davisat Metropolis Studios(Blue, IDLES, Foals, Lana Del Rey, U2, Primal Scream).
