Review: Michigander w/Manchester Orchestra’s single “In My Head”-Release date April 8, 2022 (C3 Records)
Rising indie rock artist Michigander, the sonic alter ego of Michigan native Jason Singer, has released his new single “In My Head” with Manchester Orchestra via C3 Records. The electrifying track, which first premiered on SiriusXM Alt Nation’s Advanced Placement, was produced by Andy Hull and Robert McDowell of Manchester Orchestra and written earlier this year before Michigander hit the road opening for Manchester Orchestra on a 5-week winter tour, which wrapped in late March.
Rock At Night Says: There was always a tendency among power pop artists to stick to the basics and skim the frills. Essentially, whether it is a song itself, or a video the key child lie with the music, melody guitars, everything else is just additional.
That seems to be the idea Michigander, Manchester Orchestra had in mind when they recorded “In My Head” the song itself and the official video. No need for anything more than the band on stage, if the song is good, that should be enough.
And it sure is, as the song shines brightly, no matter what.
**The video was filmed in Detroit.
