Live Review: Leaving Haven at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida-May 13, 2022

Friday the 13th 2022 at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida, was a night of rock ‘n’ roll, family and friends. What better band to warm up the stage for Jackyl than Orlando’s very own, Leaving Haven! And no stranger to the House of Blues, a fun fact mentioned by 101.1 WJRR’s Supa Dave, Leaving Haven is the first local band to play on the House of Blues stage since January 2020 when the COVID pandemic shut down live performances.

Leaving Haven formed in 2010 and in 2012 released their debut “Bad Luck Glory” at none other than the House of Blues. To promote their new album, they set out on tour. A tour that lasted thirty-four days and twenty stops across the country. April 13, 2013 Leaving Haven took the stage at the Earthday Birthday (EDBD) 20 at Tinker Field. They have since performed at EDBD 21 & 22 and another one of Orlando’s major stages, Hard Rock Live. The fun doesn’t stop there, they can also be heard on WJRR’s Native Noise hosted by their very own “semi-permanent” guitar (geetar or git-fiddle) player, Supa Dave.

This was my second time seeing Leaving Haven perform and am already looking forward to another show. The good news for anyone who missed them Friday night will have another chance. The band has just posted on their Facebook that they are having a 10-year anniversary celebration for the release of their debut album “Bad Luck Glory” at the Haven Lounge in Winter Park, Florida.
