Review: Davie Furey’s “History”-May 4, 2022
Davie Furey is another Irish singer-songwriter that has been making a name for himself. His last album ‘Haunted Streets’ produced four singles that achieved no. 1 in the Irish Singer-Songwriter charts.
At the same time, Furey was recently nominated for three Pure M Awards (Best Newcomer, Best Male Artist, and Best Irish Solo act) as well as the 2021 Hot Press Irish Music Awards’ Folk Artist of the Year.
With its grand scheme of thing production and Irish folk roots running through the song, recalling Irish greats Thin Lizzy in their earlier stages at times, ‘History’ also brings some substantial lyrics:
**
Let me introduce to you
The future that’s coming through
Stand up straight with your eyes wide open
The truth is now been spoken
If your not with me get outta the way
Cause my friends today’s our day
**
Watch out for Davie Furey, he just might be making some Irish and even worldwide musical history.
