New Single Release: “Bad Seed”
Release Date: June 29, 2022
Finnish slide guitar sensation, Erja Lyytinen does it again with her latest single, the just released “Bad Seed,” the first cut from her long–anticipated upcoming album titled “Waiting for the Daylight” that will drop on October 7, 2022.
About the single she says, “I wanted to make a track that you could dance to. This track has a fat groove and instantly makes you want to move. In the solos, two guitars vary. A regular guitar and a slide guitar have a conversation. It’s one of my favourites on the album and our first single release.”
This song and the rest of the album was conceptualized and created during the pandemic, while Erja (as was the case with so many other artists) had plenty of time on her hands and could soul search and birth something brand new. She was inspired enough to produce the whole album.
Erja handles the vocals, guitars, violin and keys and the rest of her back up band includes: Harri Taittonen on keys and Hammond organ, Tatu Back on bass and Iiro Laitinen on drums.
About the single, Rock at Night says:
“I loved the hard, bluesy guitar of this cut, it had such a southern rock kind of feel. Erja’s vocals are smooth and sensuous, perfect for the lyrics and in parts almost jazzy. Nice hooks and riffs throughout the song. The accompanying video had beautiful close-ups of Erja and a troupe of dancers in a warehouse or barn like scene. There is a killer guitar solo with a focus on Erja’s hands at the neck of her guitar. Her musical skills are legendary–she leaves most guitarists way behind her in the dust!”
