By Rosine Alleva & Jose Oliveira – Rock At Night EU Editors
As mentioned a few days ago, Deep Purple and Alan Parsons Live Project were announced to open the Festival but this last artist had to cancel his European tour due to health issues. It will finally be the group Saga that will perform with Deep Purple on July 22nd to start this long waiting famous Festival since 2 years!
In the history of rock, some groups have taken a very singular path: Saga is one of them.
This Canadian progressive rock band formed in Ontario by Michael Sadler has made its way, sometimes in the shadow of the giants of the genre, but more often in full light. Throughout the band’s career — more than 35 years of existence! — Saga blues and classical origins have attracted a music-loving public who recognizes himself in their melodic approach. In the 80s, the whole of Europe succumbed to the charm of this group to the point of giving it a very warm welcome at each of its appearances. After a first time at the Colmar Festival in 2011, Saga will be back to give the audience another epic show and reconnect with the mastery of a unique group.
